Jannie de Beer

is a former South African union rugby player who played as flyhalf for more than 150 first class rugby games and represented the Springboks (South African national team) in 13 tests from 1997 to 1999 during which he scored 183 points. Jannie made his debut for the Springboks against the British Lions in 1997. He played against England during the quarter final of the Rugby World Cup in 1999 and managed to kick 5 drop goals (world record) during that game to ensured a 44 – 21 win for South Africa and a place in the Semi-Final against Australia. He retired from professional rugby in 2002 due to knee injury. Over the years Jannie has been invited to numerous golf events, such as the Dr Costello Memorial Celebrity Golf Classic in Ireland as well as the Supersport Shootout that hosted their 14th event in 2017, which was his 3rd invite and has managed to win the Super Skills with his friend Breyton Paulse. Jannie is married with two children and resides in South Africa.
