Steven Jacobs, co-initiator of PLeace Awaken, is a South African-Irish Golf professional, personal coach and philanthropist, who played the South African Tour from 1986 until 1993 with a personal permission from Nelson Mandela for dual Citizenship during the latter years of Apartheid. Coming out of one of the most prominent South African Golfing families, having ties to many of the legends and maintaining a close friendship with team mate Ernie Els, the concept of “Six Degrees of Separation” greatly works to help the cause.
Since 1989 he has been living in Germany and Austria as a fully qualified teaching and playing professional. During this period he developed an authentic training approach and a specialized concept for young children, mainly concentrating on the aspects of motoric skills, coordination, mental youth aspects, life preparation, learning skills and health awareness, thus creating the foundation and seed for the PLeace Golf Ladies Project.
Furthermore, Steve developed a concept of promoting the sport of golf with a new and more exciting format to encourage the players to a more daring and focused approach, to eliminate the pressure factor. In 2015, in response to right-wing, anti-muslim street demonstrations in Germany, and to help the streams of refugees, Steve along with his partner Lalitha v. Flemming, initiated PLeace Awaken.
